Workshops
You will have the opportunity to choose two of the following five workshops to attend during the two designated workshop times.
1. God’s Prescription for Worry
Led by Faith Taylor
***Only offered during the first workshop slot
Whether you call it anxiety, worry, or simply concern, a woman’s nurturing spirit often results in her being mentally and emotionally consumed with the circumstances of life. How can we differentiate between godly concern and sinful worry, and what remedy is there for worry? Our sympathetic Savior has provided a process for dealing with sinful worry—one that, if practiced in daily life, will relieve the anxiety that so easily distracts us and allow us to navigate the challenges of life with His peace reigning in our hearts.
2. Helping Hurting Hearts: How to Effectively Minister to the Grieving
Led by Sarah Heywood
How can I tend to someone’s broken heart when I haven’t suffered loss myself? Join this session for biblical and practical pointers as we seek to be God’s hands and feet to the hurting.
3. Stories Are Soul Food
Led by Zach & Leah Dietrich
Stories help us escape reality, but did you realize that they also feed and form your soul? Leah and Zach will discuss how and why great fiction is important in forming character, appetites, and the habits of our homes.
4. Getting Started with Family Worship
Led by Jonathan & Emily Martin
We all want kids that know and love Jesus, even after they leave our homes. Only God can open the eyes of faith with our children, but the time we have with them in our homes is vitally important in helping shape and shepherd their hearts and minds. There are many obstacles to embracing family worship in our homes—busyness, fear, and uncertainty being a few. During this workshop, we’ll be talking about how to tackle and face these obstacles as parents and catch a vision of how we can lead our families in rich and meaningful worship day after day in our own homes.
5. Company’s Comin’…Now What?
Led by Kris Hanson
As women, we desire to be hospitable, but we’ve all experienced the myriad of emotions that
can flood our hearts and minds as we prepare to host people in our homes. In this hospitality
workshop, Kris will give us practical ideas on how to be hospitable for God’s glory.
