CONVERSATION WITH JIMMY CARTER
Due to the recent passing of former President Jimmy Carter, I listened to a 2012 conversation between Albert Mohler and him. While I have disagreements with Carter’s theology, he was the first president in recent memory to describe himself as a “born-again Christian.” I found the discussion beneficial in two ways. First, it was fascinating to hear how his faith influenced the way he governed. Second, the conversation itself serves as a model for how two people can engage with one another respectfully, even in disagreement. The dignity and mutual respect they displayed illustrate the gospel at work.

EVERYTHING SAD IS UNTRUE
Daniel Nayeri
I recently completed a book called, “Everything Sad is Untrue.” It’s written by Daniel Nayeri. He was an Iranian immigrant and chronicles his story of coming to America. His mother had to flee Iran because she converted to Christianity. The story of her conversion is inspirational. He’s an intriguing author.

A friend and I are doing a 31-day Bible reading plan during Lent. Giving ourselves grace, of course, because it’s pretty intense, but the goal is to put away fiction for the month and be saturated in Scripture.

UPON HIM
Matt Redman
This song helps me preach/sing the gospel to my soul both for encouragement and praise back to God and Jesus Christ for my salvation!

A podcast that I regularly listen to is “Bible Talk.” Slowly but surely, the hosts are putting together a conversational commentary on the whole Bible. They finished the Law, Judges, and 1 & 2 Samuel and shortly will be finishing up 1 & 2 Kings. Not only is it informative and devotional, it’s also just really fun.
