Our favorite date night restaurant is Cosi Cucina in Clive. We love Cosi Cucina because it was our first Valentine’s Day dinner together.

HOMEGROWN | DES MOINES ART CENTER

Some of our favorite dates that don’t cost an arm and a leg are grabbing food at Homegrown in Des Moines and heading to the free Des Moines Art Center, not too far away. It’s a great place to walk around and gaze at confusing pieces of “art.” Thursday’s Farmer’s Market at Valley Junction is always a blast, too!

GOLDIE’S ICE CREAM SHOPPE

One of our favorite date nights this past summer that we hit up a couple of times on our motorcycle (you don’t need a motorcycle to enjoy!) was Goldie’s Ice Cream Shoppe in Prairie City, Iowa. Goldies has fun ice cream flavors and malts but they are also known for their award-winning breaded pork tenderloin sandwiches! I can attest to the fact that they are indeed delicious!

Karis and I don’t eat out much, but we love going to concerts! Wooly’s in downtown Des Moines is hands-down our favorite venue—it’s never let us down. It’s the perfect mix of intimate and lively, small enough to feel like you’re right up front but big enough to bring in some of our favorite artists like Kings Kaleidoscope, X Ambassadors, and The National Parks. Every show there has been a great experience!
